BHP Explores a Sale of Its Chilean Desalination and Power Assets
- BHP, the world's largest miner, is weighing a sale of the desalination plant and power lines that supply its giant Escondida copper mine in Chile, in a deal Bloomberg reports could be worth up to about 2 billion dollars.
- It would be the latest example of a miner cashing in infrastructure it built while keeping the water and power flowing, freeing up money for copper.
