United Raises Its Profit Outlook Despite a Nearly $6 Billion Fuel-Cost Hit

United Airlines said this week that higher oil prices will add nearly $6 billion to its full-year fuel bill, yet it raised its 2026 profit guidance anyway, to $9.00-$11.00 a share.
The airline is betting that strong travel demand lets it pass the extra cost on through fares.
