Apple paid 40% of its global tax to Ireland, and almost all of it was a one-off
- A country-by-country filing shows Apple paid Ireland $17.1 billion last year, about 40% of a $43.2 billion global tax bill.
- The figure is arresting for a country of five million people, and it is also mostly one payment: $15.18 billion of it was the back tax the EU's top court ordered Apple to hand over in 2024.
