Netflix says live events are 5 percent of content spend and 1 percent of viewing
- Netflix disclosed that live programming will take just over 5 percent of its 2026 content budget while delivering about 1 percent of viewing hours.
- The company argues the payoff is not watch time but sign-ups: six of its ten biggest new-member days in five years came on live events.
